LINKS PAGE: AMISH Small one-room schools are located within walking distance of the homes. People visit and work with one another with horsedrawn buggies and wagons. Fields are notably smaller; the average Amish farm runs 80 acres.

Many Amish combine crafts with farming. Some farmsteads include a woodworking shop. Occasional grocery stores sell Amish and other goods.
