1. The diminution of the human form in relation to the vast spaces; both in number and in physical size the human form is diminished in the industrial scale of the landscape.

2. The smoothing of the landscape as it is sculpted for ever larger equipment.

3. The proliferation of manufactured outbuildings surrounding residences and former residences of farmers.

4. The enshrining of the past in memorials; the preservation of the vernacular.

5. The city visitor in the country.

THE UPLANDS

1. A return of farms to woodlands and forests.

2. Diversified and value-added crops that add a significant visual aesthetic to the land, such as vineyards.
